About Me

My Writing Journey

Growing up, I listened to my dad’s endless, captivating stories and my brother’s well-choreographed lies. In a family of six siblings, I had to find my own voice, or my brothers would happily take advantage.

At home, I could be vocal, but outside, I was a quiet introvert, more of a listener than a talker. Over time, I became afraid that I would never be as good at storytelling as my dad. I worried about not being able to express myself without stumbling over my words, missing the mark on jokes, or struggling to say my thoughts out loud.

But then,

The COVID-19 pandemic gave me a gift: the realisation of an outlet where I could talk about my experiences, express myself and share my life opinions. Starting this blog helped me discover what ignites my creativity, writing.

I often shy away from the limelight of public speaking, preferring to observe and immerse myself in my surroundings from a distance. As an introvert, I have a lot to say but usually choose to speak less or remain silent.

Through writing each blog piece, I find my voice. My stories come to life, filled with light and infused with my personality through the words I scribble down. My jokes make more sense and I feel more at peace telling my story.

Many of the stories I share here take a lot of courage to put out, but my writing voice compels me to bring it all out.

This blog serves as a calm, funny, confused, and wise voice in a noisy, chaotic, and rapidly changing world. It is a reminder of my past lest I forget, a realization of my present, and an anticipation of the future I envision.

A revelation of how much we are alike yet still so different.

I often ponder beyond the surface, outside family, friends, and work—who am I really? Life holds different meanings for you, me, and everyone else, and this blog helps me unravel the mysteries of who I truly am and what life is truly all about.

I hope that as you read, you will also be compelled to share your similar or different yet unique story.
